October 5 - 8th Grade going to College for a Day

On Tuesday, October 5, 2015, the 8th graders will be going on a field trip.  We will leave the school at 8:30 a.m. and return by 2:00 p.m.  Lunch will be provided at IU East.  This is an opportunity for students to tour four post-secondary campuses in Wayne County and receive a mini-college experience. 

October 9 - NMS Homecoming Dance

NMS Student Council are planning a "Blast from the Past" Homecoming Dance on Friday, October 9th at 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.  Students are welcome to wear costumes from the past. We will give prizes for some of the best costumes. Students do not need to wear a costume to attend. Cost for the dance is $3.00 and tickets will be sold during lunch the week prior to the dance.

February 6 - Middle School Winterfest Dance

The Middle School Winterfest Dance - Welcome to Hollywood! will be on Saturday, February 6th in the NMS cafeteria from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Tickets will be $5.00 per person and will be sold Monday through Friday the week of the dance during lunch.  Tickets will NOT be sold at the door.  Please contact Mrs. Hicks or Miss Frame if you have any questions.

February 23 - Freshman Orientation

Attention 8th graders!  Freshman Orientation will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. All 8th grade students and their parents are invited!  Schedule information and school policies will be discussed.  Counselors, and administrators will be introduced and available for questions. A sports and activities Expo will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 in the high school gym. Please come early and check it out!

November 11 - Middle School Career Day

On Wednesday, November 11, middle school students will be able to listen to experienced professionals share about their careers.  This will be an opportunity for students to ask questions and learn about what training and education might be required in different fields of interest.

Check Your Child's Progress

We encourage parents and guardians to be aware of how your child is doing in their classes.  Please check their progress online by going to the Northeastern Middle School website and selecting the Harmony Login under the Parent heading.  At this site, you can check  progress report, assignment summaries, disciplines, and attendance and tardies.

21st Century Scholars Program Online Application

Applications for the 21st Century Scholars Program are due by June 30th of a student's 8th grade year. Students in grades 7 and 8 can apply for this scholarship. Please call or email Miss Frame if you have questions.
